This book begins with the final days of Winston Churchill and the detailed plans for his state funeral, officially known as the Hope Not Plot. The author takes this moment in history coupled with Lyndon Johnson’s strange absence from the state funeral and creates a thrilling story of a Russian plot to upend the political climate in Europe and the US. This story is so well-written that I was constantly asking myself if this really happened.  Absolutely, brilliantly executed. Five Stars!
