Thanks to BookSirens, the author and publisher for an ARC of Twisting Judgement by Peter Kirkland and Daleth Hall. I received an advanced copy of this book for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Twisting Judgement is the sixth in the Small Town Lawyer Series. I was not familiar with this series but will certainly be going back to read the previous five books. While this book stands reasonably well on its own, there were a lot of references to prior events that I assume are a part of the other books in the series. I think having read those prior books would have made this book much more enjoyable.

Twisting Judgement is about the murder of a federal judge just before he testified. A janitor, Vinny Baptiste, is arrested and charged with the murder and hires small town defense attorney, Leland Munroe. Munroe believes the case against Vinny is more complicated than it seems on the surface.

Despite not having all of the background in this series, I greatly enjoyed this book. A great legal thriller and I look forward to the other books in this series.

In the meantime, keep turning those pages….
