It is hard to believe we are halfway through 2025. Overall, June was a productive month for reading. I finished 18 books, was introduced to a new series and joined a new site for ARC material. Of all the books I finished, here are my top five, in no particular order:

  1. Tick Tock by James Patterson. This book is #4 in the Michael Bennett series and it was another winner. For anyone who is looking for a good series, I highly recommend this series. It is about a NY police officer who is a single parent to 10 adopted children. The police stories are great but the family ones are am added bonus.

  2. The Names by Florence Knapp. This book has received a lot of hype and you never know if these books live up to it. This book did. The book has three different stories over many years. Each story follows a character's life under three different names all surrounding the importance of one's name. Great book.

  3. The Very Best of Care by Julie Hatch. This book was an ARC from a new author. The book was about a doctor who works for a hospital and he induces labor early in pregnancy to increase the hospital's revenue. Good book for a book club discussion.

  4. Presumed Guilty by Scott Turow. This is the third in the Presumed Innocent series and I think this one is the best.

  5. Gone Again by Minka Kent. If you are looking for a family thriller with plenty of surprises, this one is the book. It is the story of a religious family and the secrets they kept.

I had one more that was also incredible that lived up to the hype, Strangers in Time by David Baldacci. This one is historical fiction based in WWII. Great story of friendship and the difference people make in your life in difficult times.

On to July, keep those pages turning.....
