As we turn the calendar to June, summer is in full swing as is my reading and my summer TBR. Overall, May was a good month making it difficult to narrow down my favorite books, so many books and so little time. Here are my top five books for May of 2025, in no particular order:

  • One Summer by David Baldacci. This book is not the typical Baldacci. This is the story of a family struggling with the loss of their wife/mother and the recovery. Be sure to have lots of tissues ready.

  • Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. I read this book many years ago and picked up a copy in a bookstore for a reread. This is the story of two women friends in China in the 1800s. An amazing story!

  • The Boomerang by Robert Bailey. I love this author and loved this new book about two friends, one who was just elected president and the other is the chief of staff. The new president has a secret. He has cancer and is being treated with a secret cure for cancer. Amazing book that leaves you thinking.

  • Personal Injury by Scott Johni. This book is an ARC and the story of a drug smuggling operation being run through a miliary base. Lots of twists and turns and bad actors.

  • Forget Me Not by Stacy Willingham. This book was an ARC and tells the story of Claire, an investigative journalist, whose sister has been missing for twenty years and is presumed dead. Claire decides to find out what really happened to her sister. The book is filled with suspense as the family secrets unfold.

On to summer and my long TBR pile that is growing. Here are just a few on the pile:

  • The First Gentleman by James Patterson and Bill Clinton.

  • Beach House Rules by Kristy Woodson Harvey

  • The Summer We Ran by Audrey Ingram

  • Passion Project by London Sperry

  • What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown

  • Calamity of Souls by David Baldacci

  • Fever Beach by Carl Hiaasen

  • The Unraveling of Julia by Lisa Scottoline

  • Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid

  • Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine

Until next time, keep turning those pages......
