The Maidens by Alex Michaelides - Red Herrings Galore

Several years ago, I read The Silent Patient also by Alex Michaelides. Maybe I was having a bad week or maybe I just was not in the right frame of mind for that level of suspense. When my book club recently chose The Maidens, I decided to give this author another try. I am so glad I did.

If you enjoy a good red herring, get ready. There is a whole buffet of red herrings in this book. I bought into every one of them. This book had me guessing all the way until the end. Speaking of the ending, I read some negative reviews on the ending but I liked the ending - I did not see it coming.

I am now looking at Mr. Michaelides' newest book, The Fury. The reviews are mixed but I may need to see for myself.
