It has been a minute since I blogged. It was a super busy last part of 2024. However, I continued to read and, before I get too far into 2025, I wanted to provide my top ten reading list for 2024. This was really hard to narrow down but here goes, in no particular order:
The Women by Kristin Hannah tells the story of the nurses who served in Vietnam. I could not put this book down. Five stars.
Kill for Me Kill for You by Steve Cavanaugh is the story about a mother who lost her family to an abduction of her daughter. She joins a support group and meets someone who, as the title suggests, will kill the abductor if she will kill for her. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, full of twists and turns. Five stars.
The Violin Conspiracy by Brendon Slocum. This book has been on so many "must read" lists and received positive reviews. This book delivered and I especially loved the twist at the end. Five stars. Also recommend his second book, Symphony of Secrets.
Step on a Crack by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. This is the first of the Michael Bennett series. The main character, Michael Bennett, is a New York City detective. In this first book, he is negotiating the release of well-known hostages who were attending the First Lady's funeral at. St. Patrick's Cathedral. As if that was not stressful enough, his wife is dying and he has 10 adopted children (yes 10). A great series and Five stars.
The Only One Left by Riley Sager. What a great thriller, my first (and not my last) by Riley Sager. Five stars,
Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand. So sorry this is her last novel but what a strong finish and five stars
All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker. Absolutely lived up to the reviews and deserves five stars.
Husbands and Lovers by Beatriz Williams. Loved the historical aspects of this book. Could not put it down. Five stars.
The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. This book lives up to all of the hype, great characters and a surprise ending. Five stars.
Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney. A writer goes to a secluded island to restart his writing after the mysterious death of his wife. Lots of twists and turns and worthy of five stars.
All in all, a really great 2024 and looking forward to more five star reading in 2025. Happy 2025 and keep turning those pages.....
